Programs
All-Star Taekwon-Do offers both Adult and Children's programs that follow the composition of Taekwon-Do as chosen by the founder.
The composition of Taekwon-Do is broken down into 5 parts. These are
fundamental movements, patterns, dallyon, sparring and
self-defense. Click

Fundamental Movements
Fundamental movements are the backbone of Taekwon-Do. There are 3,200 movements in Taekwon-Do consisting of punches, kicks, and blocks.
Patterns
Patterns are various fundamental movements consisting of attacking and defending put together in a sequence. They are used to learn fundamentals, develop sparring techniques, improve flexibility, control breathing, and build muscles.
Dallyon
Dallyon, also known as forging, is a very important aspect of Taekwon-Do. In order to strike with a hand or foot the attacking tool must be strong. Dallyon is the forging of the body to maximize its power. Forging includes conditioning such as knocking, heavy bag work, and breaking.
Sparring
Sparring is the application of fundamental movements against a moving opponent. Though we practice several kinds of sparring at the school, “free sparring” is the most common form of sparring we are asked about. Free sparring is in integral part of our curriculum and we are proud to have an expert on staff. Mr. Frank Visaggio is an accomplished tournament competitor on the local, national, and international level, having represented the USA and medaled in the World Championships.
Self-Defense
Various self-defense techniques are taken from both patterns and sparring to be used against a sudden attack by an armed or unarmed opponent. Using the attacker's momentum and force, we utilize practical techniques that work. Mr. Malefyt has nearly three decades of experience working with unarmed self-defense including self-defense against edged and blunt weapontry.
